Akima is an annual sponsor of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. This year, Akima helped kick off the festival with an opening day hospitality tent, where company leadership hosted more than 350 local Akima employees and their families as well as local customers and their families. We are proud to be part of such an incredible event!
In 2021, Akima sponsored the team of eight official event photographers — who wore Akima-branded vests — as well as the festival's official photography contest, the Cindy Petrehn Memorial Photo Contest.

Computer Security Incident Response Support
We provide computer network defense monitoring, a cyber incident response team, and cyber security systems engineering and integration support to a large federal agency. We deliver technical and management support through the planning, development, and testing of technologies, as well as technical analysis in support of developing new systems and emerging technologies.
Supplemental Labor Support
The Akima team helps staff a wide range of highly technical and administrative positions at Sandia National Laboratories. These assignments normally require an advanced technical and/or business degree, as well as the ability to work independently to develop, evaluate, and apply technical and business concepts to solve complex problems. Our team regularly demonstrates a high degree of initiative, judgment, and latitude in carrying out assignments in professional-level scientific, business, and engineering disciplines.
Command and Control Technical Support for the Distributed Mission Operations Center
In support of the 705th Combat Training Squadron located at Kirtland Air Force Base, Akima teams provide operational, technical, and analytical expertise for the planning and execution of training and test events. We conduct Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) and distributed mission operations activities to provide operational support, non-kinetic operations training, and tactics development support, as well as conduct operational testing of C2ISR systems.
Counter Intelligence and Security Support Services
We provide: personnel security, information security, operations security, insider threat, access control, communications and special access program support to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
Move Management and Furniture Fixtures & Equipment Solutions
The Akima team has provided cohesive solutions to Sandia National Labs for move management support, office furniture, light building modernization upgrades, and relocation services.
Facilities and Engineering Support Services
At Kirtland Air Force Base we provide installation management services and engineering operations services to include heavy repair element, grounds maintenance, and landfill operations.
Personnel and Facility Security Program Support
Our team prepares draft and final correspondence, including forms, letters, and memorandums, related to all personnel security and FCL/FOCI activities in support of the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration. We also provide expertise and perform all necessary services to process other security-related documents, such as requests for clearance extensions, transfers, reinstatements, reciprocity, and terminations.
